I think it's worth double checking the suggested building date of 1866, as Fonthill doesn't appear on the 1871 25":1 mile OS map, but it does on the 1896 map. These maps are usually extremely accurate.

The tennis courts in center right of picture and orchard beside it and further garden behind greenhouses was sold in about 1959/60 to make way for development in the now Fir Tree Walk.

This was demolished to make way for the current meeting house c 1980. It is built over the compacted graves of former Friends so as not to disturb their often unknown locations by digging foundations

The road junction on left is the top over Deerings Road. The post on the left just passed that junction is the diagonal path that, on its northern side is the limit of the Great Doods estate. The path itself dates back to medieval times and is almost straight from, on the east, Doynings Leisure Centre to St Mary's Church, Chart Lane, Reigate. When the railway, from what is now Redhill Station (formerly Reigate Station) through to (now) Reigate Station (formerly Reigate Town Station) was constructed the footpath was diverted along the top of the cutting on the north side of the track and a footbridge built across the tracks to join up with the rest of the path on the southern side of the tracks.

this dates to before 1910 when the last remnants of Great Doods (including the house) were sold off and demolished and Eversfield road built. The ornamental 'green' feature on the corner of Croydon and Reigate roads is the last trace of this estate which dates back aboutr a thouysand years

Redhill Road (with the horse &scarf) is now Reigate Road. The road on the right is Chart Lane. The house is now owned by Reigate Grammar School and is where the headmaster lives. The driveway entrance is now off Reigate Road (about where the horse & cart are). The wall on the left is not there now - Reigate Road has been "straightened out". According to an old OS map I have the driveway into the Great Doods estate was about where the Eversfield Road / Reigate Road junction now is.
